MEET OUR DIRECTORS
Dr.
Oliver C. Boone is the Senior Administrator for the Millbrook
Elementary-Middle-Junior High School encompassing 1600 students and more than
140 adult employees. Prior to his service in Elmore County, he served as the
Principal for Crawford County High School (Georgia) and Russell County High
School (Alabama). Often sought by schools as a consultant specializing in
curriculum and classroom management, his educational leadership has been
superbly recognized on both regional and national levels. Dr. Boone serves as an
Educational Consultant for numerous businesses concentrating in the area of
educational technology services. Prior to his service as an administrator, Dr.
Boone was a nationally honored classroom teacher who has been recognized by two
United States Presidents for his outstanding teaching. As a high school band
director for more than 20 years, his bands have won in national competition on
three separate occasions. Additionally, his bands have performed at the
Tournament of Roses Parade, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, the
Blue Gray College Football Classic and the Presidential Inaugural Parade. Dr.
Boone is a published composer and author. He is widely sought as a guest
conductor, clinician and adjudicator. He is a member of the National Association
of Secondary School Principals, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum
Development, Phi Delta Kappa, and the Lions Club International. Dr. Boone has
been named twice to Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers and was named
with Outstanding Young Men of America. He has also been named into the National
Registry’s Who’s Who for Business Executives. He and his wife, Robin, have
two children, Lauren and Matthew.
Dr.
George R. Corradino is from Miami, Florida where he played under Band
Director,
Fred McCall and very frequently under guest conductors, Henry Fillmore
and Al
Wright. At Florida State University, he was a member of the 1st FSU
“Marching
Chiefs.”
He served in the U. S. Air Force, was Band and
Choral
Director at Auburn High School, Auburn, Alabama, and was
Assistant Band Director to Dr. Bodie Hinton at Auburn University where
he
earned his Masters, 6 yr. and Doctoral Degrees. In Columbus, Ga. he was the Band Director at
Columbus and
Jordan High Schools and the 1st Band and Orchestra Director at Hardaway
High
School. Bands under his direction consistently earned Superior concert
ratings
and performed solo marching exhibitions at the Orange Bowl, Gator Bowl,
Blue-Grey game, Atlanta Stadium for the Braves and Falcons and many college
Band
Days. His bands played for Presidents John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.
He was the 1st Director of Music Education for the Muscogee County
School
District for 20 years where he supervised over 60 music teachers. He
served as
woodwind and band clinician and adjudicator in many states including a
3-week
assignment as a judge for the Florida State Concert Band Contest.
He is a life member of MENC/GMEA and a charter member of the FSU
chapter of Phi
Mu Alpha. Also, he is a member of Phi Beta Mu, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi
Delta Kappa
and the Knights of Columbus.
Currently, he conducts the 53 piece Bob Barr Community Band, plays
tenor sax , leads the 17 piece Cavaliers Orchestra, directs the St. Anne’s
Catholic
Church Choir and has been an Associate Professor at Troy University
since 1990.
