Pamela Andrews
(Florida)

     Associate Professor of Music at Florida State University in Tallahassee, she has been principal bass of fourteen regional orchestras as well as principal bass of the Brevard Music Festival in North Carolina. She has been president of the Florida Orchestra Association and has held divisional positions in the National Orchestra Association and the American String Teachers Association. She is the founding director of the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra.


Harold Blankenship
(Alabama)

     Head of the Music Department for Stanhope-Elmore High School in Alabama. His concert and marching bands have rated superior at countless events including: Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana, State Competition (Alabama), and hundreds of regional and national competitions. A recipient of the Citation of Excellence from the National Band Association, he is a member of the National High School Band Directors Hall of Fame.

Lewis Herbert Cox
(Georgia)

     Former Department Chairman and Leadership Team Member for Fulton County for twenty eights years, he has been president of the Georgia Music educator’s Association and has served as chairman of the All-State Band and numerous state organization committees. He was named the Star Teacher of the Year for North Springs High School in Fulton County and in 1989 was named the Fulton County Teacher of the Year. He has been a clinician and festival adjudicator in several southeast states and has performed tours in twelve foreign countries.

 


Dr. Ronald Demkee
(Pennsylvannia)

     Before retiring from teaching instrumental music for thirty-two years in Pennsylvania public high schools, he conducted the Freedom High School (Bethlehem, Pa) Patriot Band, Orchestra and numerous other instrumental ensembles from the time the school opened in 1967 until 1997, where he was also Chairman of the Fine Arts Department. Mr. Demkee has served as the Associate Conductor of The Allentown Symphony Orchestra since 1983. He is the recipient of a number of awards including: The National Band Association's "Citation of Excellence," The John Philip Sousa Foundation's "Sudler Legion of Honor," and The Allentown (PA) Arts Ovation Award for "Outstanding Achievements in the Performing Arts." He is a member of the American Bandmasters Association and the National High School Band Directors Hall of Fame.

 


Colonel Hal J. Gibson
(Florida)

     United States Army retired, is an internationally acclaimed conductor and adjudicator. Among his military assignments included the bandleader at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldier’s Chorus and the conductor of the Armed Forces Bicentennial Band and Chorus. Following his military service he served as Director of Bands and Professor of Music at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. He was voted Professor Emeritus by the Georgia Board of Regents. He has been a member of the American Bandmasters Association for more than 35 years. He is a member of the National Band Association Hall of Fame and the High School Band Directors Hall of Fame.

 


Joseph M. Kirschner
(Georgia)

     Former Coordinator of Music Education for Fulton County Schools (Atlanta), he has served tenures as violinist with the Chattanooga and Atlanta Symphony Orchestras and Conductor of the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra. He is a recipient of many awards and distinctions including the Distinguished Career Award of the Georgia Music Educators Association.

 


Dr. Thomas Joiner
(South Carolina)

     Professor of violin and Orchestra Activities at Furman University, he has appeared as a conductor, violin soloist, chamber player and teacher in over twenty states and ten foreign countries. He has served on the faculty of the Brevard Music Center since 1980 where he holds the Dr. & Mrs. William Pendergrast, Sr. Artist Chair. He has performed in Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center as a principal player with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

 


F. Lewis Jones
(Florida)

     Former Executive Director of the Florida Bandmasters Association, he has served as a band director in Alabama and Florida where his programs were consistently rated superior at District and State Festivals. He is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame, the Florida Music Educators Association Hall of Fame and has been a clinician, conductor and adjudicator in numerous festivals across the southeast.

 


Dr. John M. Long
(Alabama)

     Distinguished Professor of Music Emeritus at Troy University, he is a past president of the American Bandmasters Association and is active as a guest conductor, speaker, clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States, Europe, Canada and Mexico. A recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal, by Kappa Kappa Psi, in 1979, he was also awarded the Sudler Gold Medal of Honor from the Sousa Foundation in 1998. In 1998 Troy University named the School of Music in his honor. He is a member of the National Band Association Hall of Fame and the High School Band Directors Hall of Fame.

Larry G. McClure (Georgia)

     Former music teacher with Clarke County Schools (Athens) for thirty years, he has directed bands, choruses and orchestras in both junior and high school. He is a published author of seventeen books designed for improving sight-reading skills. He is a recipient of the National Band Association Citation of Excellence.


Doyle Register
(Georgia)

     Director of Music & Arts at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia, he is a former public school music teacher in Florida and Georgia. He served for twenty three years as choral director in the Muscogee County School System. During his seventeen year tenure at Kendrick High School, his groups consistently received superior ratings at state festivals and received first place honors at numerous regional and national level choral competitions including first place honors at The National Adjudicator’s Invitational Choral Festival at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington, D.C.
